unlike most sports people, I am not impressed by a double digit victory over a team with a man who had been coach 5 days and a rookie QB playing his first ever game - who took his team 95 yards for a TD in two plays
see you boys back in heinz field come playoff time |

pretty easy offense to beat. who have they played again???
week 10 vs cleveland (3-9) 24-10 (most impessive win in their last month!)
week 11 vs cincinatti (6-6) 19-14
week 12 vs washington (4-8) 16-7
week 13 vs jacksonville(6-6) 17-16
face it, they got lucky playing an injured new england team. |

The steelers have also been an injured team. We beat the Eagles, and then 4 other teams, without our number one running back, or number 1 corner, the two players the pats were missing most against the steelers. And how much would they really have run the ball, down by 20 in the first quarter?
we're also missing our pro bowl nose tackle
and former rookie of the year middle linebacker
our number 2 wideout has been out 3 weeks now
we lost our starting right gaurd in the preseason
and lets not forget the loss of our starting QB, something that would kill most teams
12-1
still number one team in NFL
road to superbowl goes through heinz field, where we are undefeated and you are winless |

Soccer sucks. Its about as exciting as Professional Bowling, Synchronized Swimming, and Hockey.
Now, I know I probably shouldn't talk, but maybe my Panthers might pull their heads out of their asses since most of the hurt players are starting to heal.
Besides, the rookie quarterback has to fail eventually. Manning (Eli) is failing, Pennington failed, etc. Yours will choke too. Patriots will figure out your offense, and run your ass over.

Eli Manning might be doing poorly at the moment, but I would blame that on the fact that the Giants O-line is a sieve. Pennington has not failed. He is consistently one of the most poised pocket passers in the league and averages an astonishing 65 Percent career completion rate, even when his receivers have been subpar.
Roethlisberger is doing well b/c he has good blockers in front of him, he has a strong running game taking the pressure off him, and his receivers are very strong in terms of on the field awareness: they break off their routes when needed and are able to adapt to defenses and situations so Roethlisberger doesn't have to carry the team. His team is carrying itself. He is a big guy and will continue to grow into his role which is to limit his mistakes and find the open man. Steelers, if they are able to maintain their strong and responsible personnel decision making shoud be a force in the AFC for sometime.
The patriots nor anyone needs to figure out the Steelers offense. The offense that they are running under Ken Whisenhunt is the same one (essentially) that they have been running while Cowher has been the coach. Run the ball, throw when necessary and as always don't be too predictable.
The panthers, with the luxury of having an excellent defensive-minded head coach in John Fox, are making somewhat of a comeback in the weak NFC South. Their recent record is directly attributable to the re-emergence of the running game on the legs of Nick Goings. Delhomme has done well as he was expected to after signing a mega-bucks contract in the offseason, with a passer rating of around 88 if I remember correctly. Next season, the Panthers should be poised to do well after Steve Smith, DeShaun Foster, and Stephen Davis return from injury. After the emergence this season of rookie wideout Keary Colbert, the offense should be able to make some noise. Its defense must prove itself worthy once more since its sub-par performance this season, the pressure will be on Tampa Bay and New Orleans as they may find themselves battling with each other for third place in the division. |

Pennington is still doing well, and I say he failed because he choked in that playoff game last post-season. And he did choke, I have a Jets fan who grew up in Manhattan agreeing with me there. The dude with the huge ass name from the Steelers will soon have a game where his mistakes are tremendous, due to pressure. Remember, he is about to break records. Most people take that into their heads, and begin to decline dramatically until it is out.

Yeah cause we haven't been hearing that for 12 weeks now
If starting his regular season completely out of nowhere and then leading the team to 11-0 while he was QB wasn't too much to pressure him, then setting a record for best QB rating as a rookie QB isn't going to go to his head and ruin his play
ston you want to compare opponents? Steelers beat a better team more decisively on Sunday than either the Pats or Eagles, and that was with Ben having a bad game
what more can you ask for? Best team in nfl |
