Ston has set up a server in his house and surprisingly it holds up really well with ping times for me at or better then the servers we actually paid for.
We spent the last week or so figuring out how best to set it up so that it'll appeal to a wide range of players and have the most fun.
So this is how it's set up for now. Willing to change to help draw in players.
Jaymod
8 bots max (this is so that we can play on the server without going mad)
custom rotations.
We've already seen a couple of regulars that seem to join us everynight.
Looking for some clan members to join.
Also Fritz is playing. We named a bot -EB- Fritz since the bastard is too stubburn.

If it doesn't hold up well at the house with decent traffic (or my ISP gives me crap) I plan on moving it to a rental since they are much cheaper now then when we used to host ours. I felt it would be foolish to do so right now if no one was interested (I did this once before, but to be honest didn't put much effort into populating it). I have enjoyed it so far, suprprisingly, and actually really enjoy the laid-back jaymod. Good mix of etpro style and shrub. |

I hopped on once, but I'm getting that damn stuttering bug I had the last time I tried to play.. Forgot what it was and how I fixed it, but ping would spike to ~140ish. If I figure it out I might play a bit, but usually just still playing CoD4 atm. |

And for the love of god, can someone DL the PBsetup program from evenbalance and post it here for me? It would seem it can't update my ET in-game atm and I cannot get it because their damn bot security code thing doesn't work no matter how I type the shit in. Maybe it's just me but I think the damn thing is broken.. I would send in a ticket to them but it has the same security thing for that too! |

Givens, it might be best for you to completely uninstall and start over. Add all the patches up to 2.60, and then add that 2.60b patch that we mentioned last time.

Sadly, the bot is much better than the real thing ever was. As far as the bots go, they drop off one by one as human plays join. It's just to help get things going initially. |

well i decided to go ahead and reinstall ET. was on the server for an hour or so tonight. saw fritz (perhaps bot) join and quit a few times. |

I would say our best bet is to have as many human players as possible, and yes that fritz was a bot code. I'll try for 8 tonight if anyone else can...I'll get on TS. |
